Andechs Brewery & Lake Ammersee Private ToursThis tour takes you one hour southwest of Munich to the beautiful lake of Ammersee. From here we will head to what the locals call ‘The Holy Mountain:’ Andechs Monastery and Brewery located on a hilltop overlooking the lake and Bavarian Alps.
The Benedictine Monastery has been producing beer, schnapps and other delicacies here since 1455, but its history at this location dates back more than 1,000 years. Come join us on a fascinating excursion to this beautiful area and Monastery. We will tour the brewery and also the monastery if requested. Afterwards, we enjoy a delicious meal and sample many traditional beers in the Brauhaus on site before heading back to Munich. If your time is flexible and the weather permits, we may spend part of the afternoon on nearby Lake Ammersee at one or more of the many cafes or beer gardens. If you are feeling more adventurous, the guide can escort you on the 45-minute walk to the lake to follow the medieval pilgrimage route through a beautiful forest. To tour the brewery, you have to choose Monday-Wednesday. On all other days, a day trip and visit to the beer hall and monastery can still take place, although a tour of the brewery itself is not possible. We can offer this in connection with a brewery tour in Munich that evening. Contact us for more details and pricing. The Andechs Monastery tour costs €210/person (minimum 2 people) including:
